Genetic variability

Genetic variability makes place for selection and protects against of inbreeding depression. Genetic variability is not our goal, but our tool to achieve that. We are still under pressure of decision to prefer good animals or unrelated animals, because unrelated animals are often not as good. Next complication is often health status of unrelated animals. These are reasons why we are so carefull to introduce new animals. Most important source of new genes for us is insemination. Progeny born from unrelated parents is very strongly selected under our conditions and only small part of them is usable for us.

At this moment we work with these bloodlines of rams: Romi, Relik, Ruslan, Recht, Rekrut, Ramon and Roland.
